ImageKen Slater: Bromley Area Cricket Development Manager

Ken is an ECB Level 2 coach, and also a tutor and assessor for the ECB Level 1 and young Leader courses.  He currently plays for and is Chairman at HSBC CC. He founded Bromley District Cricket in 2004

His roles include; Strategy, Policy, Development, Partnerships, committee representative.

ImageLynne Hayward: Area Development Officer

Lynne has worked for BDC since 2010. Lynne job shares with Caroline and works three days each week.

Roles include; Newsletters, course bookings and promotion, facility hire, coach allocation, Chance to Shine, schools bookings, accounts, district trials and database.

Lynne is affiliaited to Wickham Park CC.

ImageCaroline Maxwell: Area Development Officer

Caroline has worked for Bromley District Development Group as Secretary since 2008. She is affiliated to Old Wilsonians' CC.

She joined Bromley District Cricket in October 2013 job-sharing with Lynne and works 2 days a week.

Roles include; Newsletters, course bookings and promotion, facility hire, coach allocation, accounts, district trials and district fixtures, database and maintaining the website.

ImageSadiq Hassan: Area Head Coach

Sadiq is an ECB UKCC Level 2 cricket coach, and has won the ECB Young Coach of the Year 2015 for Kent.

He has been coaching with the District for since 2010 and has been Head Coach for Bromley District Cricket Colts U11s/12s/13s/14s since 2012.

As lead Coach, Sadiq has to run the district trials, and select the final squads, providing feedback to all players who attend the trials, which he does in personalised DVDs showing the player in action. This culminates in many emails of appreciation from the players and parents, as they can see where they need to improve, rather than just be told. On average we have 80+ children competing for 56 places in the U11 – U14 District squads, meaning some tough decisions have to be made.

On a weekly basis Sadiq provides a session plan for each District training session, which is always distributed amongst his fellow coaches well in advance of the session, allowing time for any concerns to be raised. He also invites his fellow coaches to provide suggestions for areas they need to cover during future sessions.

In the 2014 season, the U12 & U14 squads coached by Sadiq both reached the finals of the KCB Inter-District Competition, finishing as runners up in both age groups.

Sadiq also coaches for the MCC Hub School Program, at Primary and senior schools in Bromley. He also coaches softball cricket fun days, and helps out at local clubs.

Sadiq used to play his cricket and coach at Bromley Cricket Club And opened the batting for West Indian Cavaliers CC in the Nottingham premier league, where he won both the ECB national knockout cup and Nottinghamshire premier title in 2013.He has also played in the LMS competition representing the HSBC Pirates and also Bromley Cricket Club.

In 2014 season he coached HSBC CC senior 1st and 2nd team and helped them earn promotion in their respective leagues. He is now the director of coaching and a 1st team Player at HSBC CC.

In September 2015 Sadiq was awarded the Coach of the Year in the Kent Area ECB Coach Awards.




ImageChris Whitaker: Area Squad Match Manager / Coach

Chris is an ECB UKCC Level 2 coach and he has been coaching since 2004. Chris has been a coach with BDC since 2009.

He plays for Beckenham CC, and is a Level 1 a umpire. He is also involved with the Bromley District Young Leader Programme and is Chairman of Crciket4Bromley (formally known as Bromley District Development Group).

Chris is the Match Manager / Coach for the U14 Area Team and managed the U14 team when they became Kent Champions in 2015. Chris again managed the U14s to North Kent Area Champions in 2016.

 




ImageOlly Powell: Coach

Olly has worked for BDC since 2010, he qualified as an ECB Level 2 coach in 2009 and went on to qualify as Club Coach in 2012.

Olly works full time as a cricket coach at a number of clubs/schools and plays for Old Elthamians CC.

 




ImageJulian Massiah: Area Squad Match Manager / Coach

Julian has worked for BDCC for the last 6 years, he is an ECB Level 1 coach and plays for BOCA Sports.

He has won the Kent Inter-District Cup with both the Bromley U14's in 2008 and U12's in 2010.

Julian is the Match Manager / Coach for the U12 and U13 Area Teams. In 2016 Julian coached the U13 Bulldogs to North Kent Area champions.

During the winter months Julian also coaches the London Youth Games Boys team and is their manager during the Competition.




ImageMike Kelson: Coach

Mike is a Level 2 ECB coach who organises 4 colts teams at Cudham Wyse CC and also plays for the seniors at his club.

Mike has been a coach since 2007 and is increasing his involvement with District Cricket coaching.




ImageNick Bier: Coach

Nick is an ECB Level 3 coach who presently coaches at Area level, and on the Chance to Shine Programme for Bromley District.  He is a qualified ECBCA Tutor and Assessor.

He was Head Coach for Kent County Age Group U15 girls from 2009 - 2013 coaching them to National Champions in 2010 and Runners Up in 2012. In 2014 Nick moved up an age group and will be coaching the Kent U17 girls.

Nick is also Head Coach for both Surrey Outer and East District Boys at U13 and U14.

He is affiliated to Old Wilsonians' CC.



  

 




ImageMark Cook: Coach

Mark has worked for BDC since 2006, he is an ECB Level 2 Coach. Mark is a one club man, playing for Petts Wood CC up to this current day. He claims that in the 2011 season, the only catches he caught were off his own bowling, with all catches off every one else going down!




ImageDavid Coram: Coach

 

David is an ECB Club Coach and has been with BDC for some 8 years. He has been coaching for the last 22 years. He is also Lead Coach for Chislehurst & West Kent CC where he has worked for the last 11 years.




ImageLee Hardinges: Coach

Lee is an ECB level 2 coach and joined the team at BDC in 2013.

Lee plays his cricket for HSBC CC and also coaches the colts at his club.




ImageCliff Hayward: Coach

Cliff is an ECB Level 2 coach who qualified in 2000. He currently plays for Wickham Park CC, following their merger with Lloyds Bank CC but started his career at Orpington CC as a colt before moving to Lloyds Bank CC where he played in the first team as Wicket-keeper/Batsman.

As the knees have got older and the recovery times longer, Cliff has retired from keeping and is now an off-spin bowler.




ImageJohn Huntley: Coach

John qualified in 1983/4 to ECB Level 2 and worked on both Kent And Surrey Development programmes of all descriptions:- Schools, Clubs, District Squads etc. and also was employed at the famous Gover Cricket School ( subject of a recent Radio 4 documentary) until it closed in 1989 .

John's photo was taken in El Salvador a few years ago where he had the almost unique coaching experience of showing the local PE staff at the school where his son worked, how to coach basic cricket skills. He spent 3 or 4 full days there and had to do it in Spanish.   

John regularly coaches foreign exchange for French and Dutch organisations who regularly use the services of BDC.  

 

 




ImageTony Lord: Coach

Tony has been playing cricket since he was eight . He played for his junior school Winterbourne,  Croydon District and Surrey County Colts in his younger days, meeting Graham Roope and Micky Stewart while practicing in the Lords nets. Tony even had a trial for Surrey 2nd XI which Fred Titmus took, but sadly didn't make the team. 

Tony attained his ECB Level 2 coaching badge in May 2009 at Whitgift School.

Tony is the lead coach for BDC cricket courses run at Highfield Schools.

Tony enjoys playing for his club Wickham Park in the Kent League.




ImageMark Nunes: Coach

Mark Nunes is an ECB Level 2 coach who works for BDC and coaches in local schools in Bromley Borough and other schools in Croydon and Greenwich.

Mark is the lead coach for the BDC softball fun days and assists on our softball and hardball courses.

He is affiliated to Spencer Cricket Club in Wandsworth.

 

 



ImageAdrian Thomas: Coach

Adrian qualified as a level 2 coach in 2008 and joined BDC the next year, coaching in numerous local schools and clubs. 
 
Adrian has played cricket for all of his life at Beckenham CC and still captains their Sunday 1st XI. He coaches their juniors from 5 year-olds up, and has managed their colts teams from Under 13's through Under 16's. 



ImageDominic Taylor: Coach

Dom is an ECB Level 2 coach who joined BDC in 2013 and has helped deliver the ECB Chance to Shine Programme to primary schools in Bromley. 

Dom started his playing career in Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire before moving south and settling in Kent. 

He is currently co-ordinator and Lead Coach for his club, Wickham Park and additionally a coach for the OW Tigers, a disability club linked to Old Wilsonians.

In 2016 Dom became a Community Coach for Kent Community Cricket specialising in Disability Cricket.

 




ImageTony Brandi: Coach

Tony is an ECB UKCC Level 2 coach and he has been coaching with Beckenham CC since 2014.

Tony Joined the BDC coaching team in 2015 and presently coaches in one of our local Primary schools, as well as general open term time and holiday courses for BDC. Tony will be coaching at the U10 trials during Autumn 2015.

Tony started his playing career for Marlborough 1870 as a colt, before playing the majority of his cricket for Broadway CC in Kent. He still occasionally plays for Beckenham CC and Broadway CC.




ImageRob Graham: Area Squad Match Manager / Coach

Rob qualified as a Level 2 Coach in 2009, is a member of the England & Wales Cricket Board Coaches Association and has worked for BDC since 2013 coaching a range of ages and abilities.

He has been a coach at Colfe's Cricket Academy since 2008 and held the  position of Assistant Coach on successful tours to South Africa in both 2012 and 2014.

Rob has been associated with Orpington Cricket Club for over 40 years and is currently their U19 coach and 4th XI captain.

Rob was the U11 Bulldogs Manager for the 2016 season and is the Lead Coach for the 2017 season U10 trials and squad training.




ImageBob Potts: Coach

Bob joined BDC in 2015 having qualified as a coach in late 2014. Bob played for many years at Lloyds Bank CC where he captained the Sunday 3rd XI and later moved to Bickley Park CC for a short spell before settling at Beckenham CC in the ‘90’s. He has led the 3rd XI on a Saturday and he now coaches their Juniors from aged 5 upwards and also helps coaching the ladies team . In 2015 he managed their U13B side.

Bob coaches at local schools for both Beckenham CC and BDC and coaches at BDC’s open cricket courses. He is currently the lead coach for the Friday night softball cricket courses.

Bob is also a qualified cricket umpire




ImageMark Bradshaw: Area Squad Match Manager / Coach

Mark joined BDC in 2016 when he became the Match Manager for the Bromley Bulldogs U10s and managed them to Kent Area Champions. He assists with the U10 coaching.

Mark is affiliated to Beckenham CC.

 




ImageDenise Pilgrim: Area Welfare Officer

Denise Pilgrim is the Welfare Officer for Bromley Area.

Denise is an ex-international netball player and has been involved with Old Wilsonians' Cricket Club for more than 30 years. She currently teaches netball in local schools and at her club.
