Bromley Bulldogs U11 beat Bexley Bashers by 4 wickets.

Date – Sunday 29th May 2016

Result – Bromley Bulldogs U11 beat Bexley Bashers by 4 wickets.

Venue – Bromley Town CC

The Bromley Bulldog U11’s commenced the season with a victory over Bexley Bashers at Bromley Town CC by a margin of 4 wickets. Captain Gabriel won the toss and invited Bexley Bashers to bat first. This soon proved to be a good decision as Bexley were soon struggling at 26-5 with some fine bowling from Jonas, Suraj, Daniel and Edward. Bexley Bashers mustered a mini revival but a fine boundary run out from Tom, a catch by wicketkeeper Blue off Joe and 2 wickets from 7 balls by Ameya brought the Bexley innings to an abrupt end with the total on of 55.

Bromley Bulldog openers Gabriel and Ekansh, who is part of the Bulldogs U10 squad, set up the foundations for victory with an opening stand of 21 with Gabriel eventually finishing as top scorer with 15. However, Bromley Bulldogs suffered a disappointing middle order collapse before Noah hit the winning runs with 6 overs to spare.

A good start to the 2016 campaign with a victory based on a very good bowling display with 8 of the visiting batsmen being bowled. Greater application on the batting front will be required if this winning start is to be maintained.
